Wayne's World
Director: Penelope Spheeris
Year: 1992

I have always heard the buzz about the movie Wayne’s World and had seen many different parts, but I had never watched the movie all the way through.  I thought the movie was hilariously stupid, but what do expect when Mike Meyers is the star. The movie is about Wayne and his friend Garth that host a stupid late night television show that is filmed from Wayne’s basement. The show becomes very popular and lots of people are tuning in to watch it. A guy named Ben Oliver hears about their show and wants to put their show on his big network in Chicago. While they are at the network Wayne becomes infatuated with an Asian rock singer named Cassandra Wong. Because the show is so stupid, Ben is trying to sabotage the show to steal Cassandra away from Wayne when their show did not make good ratings. After awhile, Wayne and Garth realize they do not like the way there show is anymore and it is not the same as it used to be. Wayne decides that he would rather help Cassandra with her career instead. All in all I thought the movie had some really funny parts and with Mike Meyers and other SNL cast members makes this hilarious. I think the writers and directors did a good job of making this one of those iconic comedies that everyone has either seen or heard of.  Everyone always quotes this movie for it’s infamous lines and just overall goofiness. I am glad that I finally watched the movie all the way through and I would definitely watch it again if I want a good laugh, and to feel extremely smart.
