#6 Untamed Heart(1993) Amanda Valderrama

Director: Tony Bill

I really enjoyed the film Untamed Heart, I thought it was very innocent and touching. It had a very good plot that it followed with a lot of detail into the characters. It really helped you to be able to connect with them on screen and understand why they react the way they do. I think the beginning started off a bit slow, the focus was so drawn out and I was loosing interest, especially since the first 30 minutes of the movie Christian Slater barely says two words. But, towards the middle when Adam saves Caroline it got more interesting because you started to understand him better when he would tell his stories of being an orphan and having his heart defect. So, basically I think it was good the way he portrayed the character because his reaction to things without speaking could really help you understand that his character was someone who hasn't experienced many things in life and who is still a child at heart. Unfortunately, like most movies Adam died due to his heart, which although it was made in the 90s, the stereotype of the hero dying within the past 15 or so years has become a disappointment. Regardless, the chemistry between Marissa Tomei and Christian Slater made the story. The writer included all the things that you would relate to when being in a relationship with someone; the puns and little jokes. It really captured the realistic traits of being with someone. I have to say that I was pleased with the ending because it was bittersweet. Yes, Caroline was alone again but she had also grown as her own person. She had his favorite records that he left her and a simple note stating that no matter what happened, she was always the heart inside of him.
